A New Chapter at Plettenvale
A few years ago, while on holiday in Plettenberg Bay, Dirk and Mariesa felt a quiet calling to make this beautiful part of the world their home. After a daylight robbery in December 2020, they decided it was time to leave Gauteng behind and start a new chapter in the Western Cape. Their search led them to a small vineyard just outside Plett. On the morning they were due to meet the owners, Mariesa received her daily Bible verse – a message that felt like confirmation even before seeing the property: "Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom -there I will give you my love." It felt like divine confirmation.
Plettenvale immediately struck a chord. There was something in the peaceful rows of vines, the golden light over the valley, and the gentle hush of the countryside that felt like home.
Dirk, who once owned a game farm in Bela Bela, and Mariesa, with her eye for detail and warmth, knew this was the beginning of something special.
They purchased Plettenvale and began lovingly transforming it into the peaceful vineyard retreat it is today.
